Can this be used on its own without estrogen? Thanks

I don't really see the point in taking it on its own, as it's taken with estrogen in order to protect the womb lining x

Some women do take it on its own given that progesterone is the first hormone we lose.  If you are in perimenopause you will still be producing oestrogen.  Oestrogen is the 'bleeding' hormone and without progesterone this can cause heavy bleeding.  So it makes sense that we should be able to take progesterone first.  Its certainly worth discussing it with your gp or meno specialist.

I'm struggling with side effects from estrogen so thought I'd try utrogestan on its own last couple of nights and my symptoms seemed to slightly improve. Didn't have it last night and feel like death again today. I don't know if I may be high in estrogen as suffering with alot of endometriosis symptoms pain etc so all a bit confused. The last thing i want to do is fuel endometriosis with more estrogen. All a bit confused 😕
