Well we are now in May and I cannot seem to find Utrogestan 100mg capsules anywhere near me in Ashford, Surrey.  Tried Boots and also the smaller independent chemists, but have been told that it's sold out everywhere and when it does arrive, it's already spoken for with their regular customers.  Last month I had to order from an online pharmacy at a cost of £29.99.  Seems like I will have to do the same again this month 😞 Has anybody here had the same experience?

The HRT I have been on for years is hard to get hold of, so 2 weeks ago they put me on Utrogestan which I have also found is difficult to get hold of- typical!

The Dr was surprised and goes she has never had issues like this - not a helpful response. My usual chemist did tell me that all chemists irrespective of how big/small they are get a maximum of 30 packets of Utrogestan a month and then have to wait till the next month - hence the shortage and I guess it doesn’t help that you are having people like me who were happy on other HRT being prescribed Utrogestan as an alternative as can’t get their usual HRT.

Worrying how many types of HRT are now hard to get hold of - I am 2 weeks into this Utrogestan and not having a good time on it…

I hope you get to find some soon.

I had to ring several chemists to find it last week. I’m in London so there are a fair few chemists available to me, but I really feel for those of you in more rural areas if it is the same issue there too.

I get my prescription meds from Pharmacy2U and had an email today to inform me it was out of stock and should be delivered in 14-16 working days.

Shortages still ongoing here in Surrey. I just cannot understand it. Yes, there has been unprecedented demand but you’d think this would be a great profit-making opportunity for manufacturers to increase production.  I somehow doubt that men are having problems with supplies of Viagra.

Agreed Beaker. Men wouldn’t stand for it  >:(
I haven’t been able to get utrogestan for 4 months. Blimey, I’ve been stalking lots of the chemists here in Ayrshire with no luck  :(

Please excuse what might sound like a silly question.
Why are suppliers rationing packets of utrogestan, given the high demand.
Surely high demand = more money to be made by manufacturers.
I don't get it.
Also, I hears in Feb-March that these supplies issues were now a thing of the past.
I remember struggling to get evorel, but that was back in 2019.

When I went on there, they wanted to communicate with my GP surgery, and I don't want them to, I only wanted to buy a packet of utrogestan, what am I doing wrong? and how do I bypass that thing where they contact your GP surgery?

This is what I don't understand.
We should not be rationing meds in 2023, it's not WWII
It's like manufacturers are doing themselves out of money, when they could just provide and be done with this nonsense, as it's getting a bit old to be honest.
I remember having problems back in 2019 with evorel and having to get my sister to send them from Spain.

4 months, I could not be pestered phoning round chemists.
I think I would just stop taking it, save myself the hassle.
