Femoston-conti 1 mg/ 5 mg
« on: March 19, 2023, 10:19:06 AM »

Hi, looking for some shared learning please from anyone who may have issues with progesterone intolerance.  I’m 56, and periods had stopped but was struggling without HRT (demanding full time job and family life) so went back on.  Due to progesterone intolerance and trying pretty much every solution, I was put on Femoston-conti 1 mg/ 5 mg about 3 years ago.  However it started a regular monthly bleed and all the symptoms - and after a full internal and camera investigation in February, I’m now having periods every 2 weeks, and currently it’s very heavy.  All the results from the camera investigation and biopsies were normal. I’ve recently tried testogel which has helped a little - but my feeling is I need a higher combined oestrogen/progesterone preparation  - but one I can tolerate.

I’m feeling absolutely shattered and drained all of the time, and wondering if anyone can recommend a good tablet formula which might work? Note the internal progesterone/gel/ patches combo have not worked for me and I travel a lot with work so tablets are best.  I also have rampant and exceptionally painful oesto arthritis so the HRT really helps with joint mobility.  All other blood tests normal

Any thoughts/suggestions much appreciated - thanks .  I am seeing a memo consultant soon, so keen to try and prepare as much as possible

I’m really keen that I try a preparation which gives me the best possible solution

Hi The combined continuous hrt tablets which contain more oestrogen are Elleste Duet Conti, Kliofem or Nuvelle Continuous. They all contain the same progesterone which is Norethisterone.
