I’m new to this site just trying to find my way around ..
Wanted some advise please..
I’m 57 post menopausal and been taking 2 x pump Estrogel and 200mg utrogestan every night..Been taking for nearly 9 weeks.
Feeling so unwell, tired, mood swings, anxiety, confusion, dryness…
Didn’t expect to be feeling this unwell..
Any advise please ❤️

You can take 200mg but usually you only take this if bleeding is a problem x

Hi Babs,
I have been prescribed 200 Utrogestan daily for one month due to breakthrough bleeding. The gyno also said that I can carry on using it if I want to keep my lining thin. My problem are tender breasts and heartburn when taking this high dose and I have asked my GP if i could take it vaginally but they do not agree with that. I am a bit lost with how to carry on. But it seems that there is no harm in taking 200.

It's a bureaucratic problem not a medical one. It isn't licensed for vaginal use in the UK though it is in the rest of Europe. The 200mg are licensed here for ivf but not for hrt.

Yes, it's really difficult when GP's don't want to prescribe for vaginal use although private practices do. I just don't know how to approach this as they told me to use it only orally. And this is causing me serious side effects...

Same when taking orally acid reflux and so tired even tho iv now dropped down to 100mg .. had a scan my uterus is very thin so not sure why my gynaecologist would prescribe 200mg continuously through the month .. it’s seriously made me feel so unwell .. my heart was pumping. I took 100mg last first time internally bit nervous but going to see how it goes ..
Thank you all for your advise really does help ❤️
