Night sweats
« on: March 09, 2023, 08:56:55 PM »

Since being on HRT I’ve not had any night sweats but the last couple of months they’re back every night, I’m 51 and on 3pumps Oestrogel & 100mg Utro vaginally continuously and although I’ve had some break through bleeding it’s better for me to take it that way as I have Fibromyalgia and the hormone fluctuations make that flare up.
Is it time for me to go up another pump maybe? I thought as you got closer to meno you needed less Estrogel or did I imagine reading that somewhere?

Morning.

You could try adding extra but I wouldn't suggest every night initially as the body needs to adjust.

Is the break through bleeding to be expected on this regime?  It may take a while for the body to get to where it 'wants to be', even after the last period for example, ovaries may continue to produce small amounts which we may/not notice.

MayB put the product names into the search box to see if threads pop up?

I'm not sure if needing less is fiction or fact, it hasn't been my experience either. It isn't at all uncommon to need more as you produce less yourself, I've had to increase twice because of returning symptoms. I would try an extra half pump, if that isn't enough then an extra pump. I would use the extra dose every day to avoid fluctuations.

Thank you ladies, I added an extra half pump this morning so will give it a week to see if it improves.
Yes breakthrough bleeding was expected whilst late  Peri and my specialist told me they would either  stop or get a lot less as I got further along which she’s been right about
