Hello Ladies,
I'm new to post but I did consult the forum about 5 years ago when I really was struggling to find a compatible HRT in the USA. I've now returned home (to Ireland), nearly divorced and was really doing well since I returned until Cyclo-progynova was taken off the market. Since, I've tried Femoston Conti. The progestin everyday did not work for me. I'm now on Trisequens which has been ok, definitely don't feel wonderful. I'm now considering going back to the doc to try something else but I like to see a list of the HRT's available and work through them. Unfortunately my list of HRT's and side effects is in the USA and can't be obtained.
My History:
I had a premature menopause at 35. In hindsight I went into pre/peri menopause after the birth of my twin boys at age 25. Suffered with panic attacks since their birth until I was put on HRT about 36/37 years of age. Was put on anti-depressants when I was 26 for the panic attacks which I hated because I was not depressed. They also ruined my teeth because they made me grind/clench and made me feel numb. I have osteoporosis since I was diagnosed at age 35. Taking calcichew now and have regular dexa scans.
While in peri I started to have issues with my ears. Long story short I have eczema in my ear canals. I'm sure my mother did too, she would scratch her ears with a hair pin. If mine flare up I use a steroid cream but recently found a great cream epaderm, I think it's an emollient. I know other women here suffer and hope it might help them too.
Also, I never suffered with hayfever until the year I gave birth. Thought I had a head cold until someone in the suppermarket mentioned it. It never occurred to me!
This month my hands chapped uncontrollably and it was definitely the progestin because it was while I was taking it. I also recently got an oven burn, it turned into a blister which burst and and turned bad while on the progestin. Even the plaster I had over it gave me an allergic reaction. I also feel now I have rosacea, I’m very red and cannot leave house without make-up. I have melasma on my neck (right side, I know from the sun on my neck in the car). I’m now using factor 50.
I think there used to be a list of available HRT’s on this website/forum which I will review but wanted to say Hi, lovely to meet you all and join the conversation. I hope, in time, I can help someone as much as your discussions helped me in the past.
