Hello all, finally able to get back on here after dropping my phone in the dog's water bowl and having to use a phone with no ability to go online. Hope you're all doing well.
I've had a letter following my GP referring me to a menopause specialist, by which I make an appointment online. Did so and the system said it couldn't offer me an appointment.  Went back to the surgery and had a 2nd letter to a different clinic, same outcome, no appointments. 
GP says they have to offer me an appointment by 8th April, according to NHS guidelines,  but she says that may not happen. It also means I cannot notify either clinic that I'm available to take a cancellation.
In the meantime, after increasing my Oestrogel to 3 pumps a day now for 3 weeks, my night sweats are starting to return which means I wake every hour through the night, just before the heat floods overhead. I'm shattered. This is what has happened with every type of HRT I've been given once I've been on it over 3 months. Feeling exhausted and naffed off!!! I just want to sleep. Sorry, moan over.

Oh no, what a shame your phone got a drenching! With the menopause clinic my GP contacted them to send me an appointment. Pity your GP cannot do the same rather then you having to make the appointment yourself. I would not have thought you would get a first appointment by April because usually the waiting list is a lot longer. Is it possible to call the menopause clinic and speak to reception to ask to be put on the cancelation list?

It is so unlucky the night sweats are back. No wonder you are feeling tired and annoyed. Not sleeping is horrible. No need to apologise for your post. Feel free to write what you like on here.

Thank you, as always, for your replies. The GP secretary I spoke to about the appointments saus that I could be seen by either clinic by April so wouldn't be able to call them to let them know I'd take a cancellation. Not sure that makes sense so I may be better calling them both.
On a plus note, the oestrogen pessaries/cream have been a life changer. My VA symptoms are barely there to the extent that my husband and I had a romp in the bedroom without me having to use local anaesthetic cream. I could barely believe it! The last trace of pain is getting better by the week. So I'm very much looking forward to telling my GP the news and asking her if she now thinks it is VA rather than vulvadynia. I think the proof is in the results. Would just like to be able to sleep now.
BTW I did put my phone in rice and then dismantled it onto of the hotwater tank. It was OK for a few days then stopped charging. Only £45 for a local business to fix it so not too much damage fortunately.

I am very happy to hear how much better the VA is! Such wonderful news.

So luv your post could be me!!
Va under control wonderfully with imvaggis a complete game changer but night sweats still awful with 2 pumps of oestradiol.
Menopause clinic say I'm the 1 in 10 that hrt doesn't work for night sweats.
Mood anxiety everything brilliant but night sweats NO.
I'll take the 80%that it works for tho.

Clareabelle I'm so sorry to hear you're suffering too. Does it presumably affect your sleep too? Last night I couldn't stay asleep for more than 45 mins. I also took my Utrogestan early with my dinner - I read someone else had done that on the forum. Made no bloomin' difference.
I'm going to fire off an email to Dr Currie as I just want to sleep. Would I presumably find her email on the main site?
