Hi,
I'm really struggling to make sense of my symptoms and so is my GP (not that I've seen the same one twice
![Roll Eyes ::)](https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/Smileys/extended/rolleyes.gif)
) so I'm hoping that some folk with more knowledge of what may be perimenopause related and what may not be can help me unpick it.
I'm 45 and have been taking desogestrel for the last 10 years. It stopped my periods so I came off it for a few months recently to see if they came back and they did, just so you know where I am in that respect.
The list of symptoms I have include brain fog, nominal aphasia, shortness of breath, blurred vision, occasional palpitations, perpetual light-headedness and nosebleeds. The biggest issue by far is the muscle pain and muscle fatigue/weakness which has been gradually increasing over the last few years. It started in my thighs and stayed limited to my legs for several years, leading me to have to quit sport. Since August it has been so bad that I can no longer walk up stairs without having to stop and rest my legs. It's spread to my entire body and I've gone from being very active and doing a physically demanding job to being barely able to amble around the park with the dogs. I can't even hold a torch up in the air to light something for someone to work on without having to put down after a minute or two as my arms give up. It doesn't matter how much rest I get, I'm perpetually exhausted and can't concentrate or focus on anything which requires any thought.
I'm not convinced that all of this is down to perimenopause, but I expect some of it is.
Does this sound familiar to anyone as perimenopausal?
