Anxiety and sleep problems
« on: January 30, 2023, 06:08:56 AM »

I have had problems with getting my evorel patches so have not had any hrt for over a month. I have been.experiencing sleep problems and waking up anxious. Is this because i haven't had my hrt
Thank Lucie

Hi Lucieann1017

speaking from my own experience I would say definately.

Low estrogen is notorious for lack of sleep and anxiety. It was/is with me anyway.

Have you not been able to get hold of your patches due to shortages? You need to ask your gp practice for alternatives so you can at least keep your estrogen levels up

I had to stop my oestrogen for a few weeks whilst waiting on biopsy results and my sleep problems were the first symptom to return! So yes, my experience says that your sleep problems are very probably due to falling estrogen levels. I'm one week back on my Oestrogel and my sleep is beginning to improve.

I agree with discogurl, can you speak with your gp and get an alternative prescribed?

The British menopause society site says no issues with evorel.

How come you have been unable to get them from the pharmacy?
Sorry you have had issues.
Low oestrogen means waking up with roller coaster stomach anxious feelings, can get IBS, sweats, flushes etc.
