Article on HRT protecting women from dementia
« on: January 14, 2023, 02:22:16 PM »

This is an interesting article about HRT protecting women from dementia.

I wonder if there is any truth in it?

:thankyou:  I had seen the headline then forgot to read the article  ::)

Peer reviewed research required - I wonder if putting out such a headline is a way of getting Funding towards finding out if it is likely to work?

When would women begin on a double blind trial?  So many don't recognise peri-menopause symptoms, timing the beginning of appropriate HRT would be difficult.  Mum was never on HRT and didn't get dementia-signs until she was 92.

Will be interesting to see whether this Research will push ahead.

The research will go ahead and its all good news. Only problem when at this stage it can take years to get the final results.
I think its aimed at women who are at risk of developing the disease ?

Hello ladies.

I read this in The Guardian today and it appears that the research is ongoing.

On Thursday the paper ran an article about how poorly menopausal women have been  treated so perhaps this is a hot topic again.

Take care ladies.

I haven't read that article but just heard sky news mention it and waiting to hear the story.

I'm only on local oestrogen and when I hear about her possibly preventing dementia I get scared and wish I was on it for that prevention.  My dad had dementia and it must be the most distressing thing you can have.

All the media have picked up on it.  'may' is the important word at the moment.
