Which symptom would you like to ease first? Some find that keeping a mood/symptom/food diary is of use to chart progress. Anxiety tends do become bothersome due to hormonal upheaval. HRT may help as would the appropriate anti-depressant medication or a dedicated anti-anxiety drug. Rescue remedy can be useful.
Don't bother with a gynaecologist, ask for a referral to a specific menopause clinic. Gynaes are a bit like GPs, they don't have much of a clue!
