Good morning
After a couple of months on Evorel Conti I took the patch off this weekend
My IBS was really affected for the first time in years, noticed more hair than normal in the shower, my skin was really reacting to the patch, I was swollen all over and my weight gain
Was getting me down
I’m a bikini competitor and have been 2 years post menopause, the only thing that could be causing the weight gain was the HRT (it’s listed as common on the doc)
I feel like a failure and the bleeding is really bad at the moment
I’m assuming that’s a withdrawal bleed
Any help and advice on alternatives really welcome xx

Juev you are not a failure. You cannot help having side effects to HRT. I think we all have at least one side effect to it.

There are many other options for you so please do not worry. A common one is an oestrogen patch with seperate progersterone such as ultrogestan. You still have many options to try.

I may be wrong here but I though seqi notcl conti was for post meno. Hopefully somebody knowledgeable can clarify that.

I was on the Evorel patch and utrogestan previously, I’m thinking I may have to go for the gel as I seem to be reacting to the patch
I’ve a Dr appointment tomorrow so hopefully more options x

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow. Often patches cause skin reactions so gel sounds like a good idea.

There are still other options. I had an allergic reaction to evorel but am fine with oestrogel and estradot.
