New to HRT

Hello, I would like abit of advice, I have been prescribed the combined HRT Everol conti, im 4 weeks in and ive started a period which is quite heavy, after 6 days I'm still the same, is this normal? It's a shock to my system it been over 4 years since my last period and  im quite worried, I have also had pain. Any advice would be great.

Yes, it can happen and is sometimes expected, to have a bleed after starting HRT.
It should settle down as your body gets used to the hormones.

I’m sure someone will advise with more info than me, so hang tight.

Hi welcome to the forum .

Bleeding can occur in the first six months of starting hrt. It is quite common.

Can I ask how old you are ? And are you definitely post menopausal …. 12 months without a period and not in any other hormones like the mini pill ? xx

Yes, im 52, over 4 years since my last period, its took me over 2 years to be listened to and be prescribed anything, ive been struggling 😪

Hello...bleeding can happen for up to 6 months, but keep an eye on it.  It could be that the Evorel Conti doesn't suit you and you may be better on a different hrt.  It's a case of waiting and seeing .  The advice is to give hrt 3 months to settle. x
