Complete mess- where to start with hrt?
« on: November 17, 2022, 10:45:14 AM »

Hi, as posted yesterday, I'm crying all the time. I've got other symptoms too. I'm 41 and blood tests confirm perimenopause.
Initially I was told no to hrt because my oestrogen is high but I think if I don't start something, I won't be able to function. My anxiety is very very high.

I don't know where to start with hrt and my gp isn't w specialist. Is there any advice or guidance on whether patch or gel etc? I've read about microgenised progesterone- what brands are that? I think I may be sensitive to progesterone because I get hives at certain parts of my cycle.
I am still getting periods but I think not ovulating. They are irregular in length though.
Any help or signposting would be great, thanks

If U keep a mood/food/symptom diary to chart progress it may become clearer.  How R your periods?  Mine waxed and waned for several years.

Which symptom would you like to ease first?  U can ask for a referral to a dedicated menopause clinic, not a gynae; there are waiting lists.

Is there a Nurse Practitioner or GP interested in womens health at your surgery?
