New here and about to have full hysterectomy
« on: November 15, 2022, 12:47:10 PM »

Hello everyone, I'm so glad I was directed to this group.  I'm 52 and have a full hysterectomy booked for 6 weeks time to deal with a crowd of very angry fibroids.  They may be angry now but will be livid when they are homeless  ;D
I'm currently feeling very calm about it, have help booked for house/horses and realise I must behave and I can't just rush around doing things.

I'm looking forward to your guidance as to post op awareness, HRT, what to expect etc so that I can be as prepared as possible

I too made my fibroids homeless  ;D
Really was the best thing I ever did, I was up and about next day but had to do almost nothing for 6 weeks.
Are ovaries being evicted too? I kept mine as fibroids were just on the womb

Don't lift anything heavier than a Kleenex tissue  ;). MayB cook for the freezer prior to admission?  Do wear a button down nightie rather than one that pulls over the head as it's quicker when the Drs do a check up.  Also 1 may be stiff and sore.

:welcomemm:  what did the Surgeon suggest re HRT requirements?  Will it be necessary?
