Mirena or Evorel?
« on: November 15, 2022, 07:17:03 PM »

I (peri aged 46) decided my preferred hrt would be Mirena plus estrogen (worsening heavy periods and pms) but the waiting list was over 6 months, so after jumping through various hoops (blood test, ultrasound)  was prescribed Evorel. Now a gynae appointment has come through which must be the original Mirena appt. Do I just go to the appointment? How would I then get prescribed the estrogen component - by the gynae or would I have to go back to the Gp? Any thoughts, insights very welcome x

Could you do both? Mirena for progesterone and evorel for oestrogen? That’s what I’m planning after being prescribed a combination I don’t want. Coil appointment next week then I plan to ask for evorel 50 patch x

Thank you! Of course. I can keep on the Evorel estrogen ones I’ve got (not use the conti progesterone) until I get a new prescription. Thx so much x

I’m absolutely dreading my coil appointment but grateful I live in a part of the country where the waiting list wasn’t 6 months! X
