Shaking
« on: November 12, 2022, 03:35:31 PM »

Hi all,
I've been posting this week about my bad start to hrt and the doctor suggesting I come off for 2 weeks.
I stopped on Wednesday and last night and today I've had episodes of shaking.
Really big shaking. Like a blood sugar drop but much bigger. I dont think its a panic attack because they've happened for no reason.
Would the fact I've stopped cold turkey create these issues? I was only on it for 2 weeks.

Hello my lovely. Sorry to hear that you are going through this. I am thinking of you. Just be aware that panic attacks can happen for no reason. II often have them and they are not triggered by anything in particular. I meditate and they have go better. Also there is a free qigong site on the wen. If you google Lee Holden 10 minute morning or evening qigong. It is quite relaxing. A bit like Tai Chi.

The perimenopause makes me shake  and I don't know why. Could you go back to your doctor? I think you need some more advice. Ask to be referred to menopause specialist. GP's do their best but a specialist would have more information and may be able to help.

Keep in touch and let us know hhow you are getting on. Sending you best wishes and thinking of you. x

Thank you, that's such a kind message.
I wonder if the hormone fluctuations are causing a panic attacks if thats what they are.
I am really struggling at the moment, daily. Never seem to have a good day and I keep having time off work.

Sounds like me. I have been signed off for the last 3 weeks and have 2 weeks to go. I can;t face the thought of going back at the moment.

The unbalanced hormones were causing me severe anxiety and I got so low I just couldnt cope. I was shaking and couldnt focus on anything. I was so low each day was a challenge to get through. What was worse was I didnt understand why. A friend of mine suggested the perimenopause and thats when I sought help.

I totally understand how you are feeling because I am still going through it myself. Yesterday and today have been slightly better days. Although I am aware it is still early days. You will get there darling. It does take time but you will. I have days when I dont want to get out of bed. I am quite a social being and I havent wanted to see or speak to anyone.

You are not alone and remember as much as we think we are we are not superwoman. You need to be kind to yourself and talk about how you are feeling.

Please message if you need to chat. We can get through it together.

I would not be surprised if the shaking was due to you stopping HRT. Even in two weeks your body would have been adjusting to the new hormone doses and then suddenly it would have to adjust again. Try to make sure you eat regularly to keep up your energy. I really hope the shaking stops soon.

I would expect that stopping suddenly has sent your hormone levels into a spiral!  This may cause shaking ........ keep hydrated. Eat little and often even through the night .
