Thank you very much Mollydolly for your reply.

I've tried 2 lots of HRT combined tablets with unbearable side effects. Gel I am just about tolerating at night and only 1 pump, but barely sleeping.

Am scared to try patches after my experience with tablets but maybe if I can pull myself together somehow I should ask GP for patches. GPs at my practice haven't a clue. I had a private apt booked with menopause GP specialist for yesterday and after waiting 5 months for this apt they cancelled my apt for yesterday and can't see me until next year sometime. They might as well have pulled my heart out.

What stage are you at hopeful???  Age??

Im 46. In peri and, it took me a long time to find out, and a lot of awful trials, but my estrogen is plenty high. At times too high.

Whereas my progesterone is rock bottom, leaving me unbalanced and hugely symptomatic.

I just wonder with u struggling to take estrogen. Estrogen was thrown at me by my gp a few years ago - I felt poisoned on it.

Just a thought x

I am so sorry to hear your appointment was cancelled. I understand how upset you must be especially after waiting so long.

Thank you all so much for your support 🤗.

I'm 49. I don't know where I am. GP did blood test over a year ago now said I wasn't in menopause but gave me HRT when I begged for it.  Night sweats, anxiety and vaginal atrophy in particular I can't control and it's destroying me. I can't trust GP as they doubled HRT when I said my head was burning and my head burnt insane when they doubled it and it lasted for weeks after stopping it and months later scalp still sore after it.

I agree that your symptoms sound menopausal. I can relate to how you feel. It really is horrible and difficult to get the right balance with treatment. I think what makes it hard is your GP not having any understanding of menopause and not referring you to a menopause clinic. You have to go so slowly with any medication as you react so severely.

I was just reading through your posts and did not see any mention of you asking to see an NHS menopause clinic. I think that would really help you. Your GP seems to just change your HRT all the time and your poor body must be so confused. Do you remember you mentioned trying an oestrogen only patch just to see how it goes? I wonder if that may be your best bet. Once you are used to the lowest dose at least you will know if your body can tolerate it and then you can work out which progesterone agrees with you.

I know you have had a lot of change though and may not want to try another one.

Thanks so much for your support Flossieteacake 🤗.

Actually I asked my GP yesterday when she rang me to confirm I have another UTI again if she would refer me to a menopause clinic and she said she would, but how long will I be waiting  :'(. Last time I asked they referred me to gynacologist who telephoned me and just said has I wasn't getting on with HRT I should just take something else for hot flushes no help at all I just couldn't believe it. So I'm afraid to get hopeful that I will eventually get to see someone who can help. Sorry for rambling on.

Morning ladies.

Sorry to post on here again. Still have headache but I think its settling. Feel spaced out and my hair has become really straw clump like overnight. Good GP isn't on until tomorrow. I'm supposed to go to work today but can't stop crying. Took oestrogel yesterday morning trying morning which has set all this off so should take oestrogel tonight to go back on nights but I'm afraid it take it now. I'm on my 3 day break from progesterone until tomorrow. I think I should take another night off oestrogel and see if things ease off. I'm a nervous wreck scared my hair will start to fall out again like it did with Elleste Duet. Thank you for all your support I don't know what I'd too without you lovely ladies x.

Gynaes are not as knowledgeable in menopause as a menopause specialist so do not worry. I know the waiting list may be long but it is great you are on it now. Please do not apologise. You are not rambling on. You are just telling us what is happening for you.

I am so sorry you are having such an awful time of things. It sounds like you should stay home today and rest. I know how upsetting it is to loose your hair. How are you feeling now?

I was thinking. What happens when you stop HRT and just use VA treatment?

Thank you so much for your replies ladies.

Hi Flossieteacake I went to work afterwards. I tried estriol cream tiny pea sized amount but it gave me terrible ****ling down the backs of thighs and hairline on face I know it sounds weird but it stopped completely when I stopped it and started HRT so unfortunately atrophy bad now as 1 pump of oestrogel not enough. My anxiety over trying anything new now is off the scales, feel so guilty for being so pathetic about it.

Hi CrispyChick. I do feel worse off progesterone I think I take it days 1-25, but when I start back on it on days 1-4 I can get big bug like bites just one or two which freak me out as 2 months later they have got much smaller but not disappeared yet. But I must need oestrogen for atrophy isn't that right?

Thank you both for your support and kindness.

How can you even think you are pathetic? You get unbearable side effects when you take anything yet you keep trying. You are so strong. I would have given up ages ago if it were me. You cannot help reacting to HRT. It is so unfair though. I really feel for you.

Good morning ladies.

Feeling hopeless again. After my GP agreed to refer me to menopause clinic in London I got letter to book apt with local hospital gynacology tel clinic again. I really don't have any more fight in me to try and get some proper help. Terrible burning under boobs last night I suppose it's indigestion still pain there today I guess it's from utrogestan. I don't know what to do. Try and stick to oestrogel & utrogestan and suffer on I've been on it 2 months now. Or ask for patch although after burning in head and hair loss after hrt tablet I'm afraid to try patches. I live in Hertfordshire if I was to specify a specific clinic to refer me to what would I ask for. So disappointed private apt cancelled last minute after waiting months. Sorry to rant on again. Thank you for your continued support.

I wonder if your GP does not know there is a difference between a menopause clinic and a gynae. It is so frustrating they keep sending you to the wrong place. I understand how you feel. It is so hard to get help. Is it possible to send a message to say you want a menopause clinic and not gyane as you need advice on menopause? I know you should not have to spell this out.

I feel patches are easier to control as you can cut them to make the dose less and start slowly. Tablets are not really given as often from what I hear. It is not fair you are left to figure this out on your own and I really am sorry you are going through this. I know I mentioned you trying an oestrogen alone patch just to see how you get on and once you know you can tolerate that perhaps you can then try to find the right progesterone. I am not sure if that may be something you may like to try.

Please do not apologise for making posts on here. You need support from people who understand what you are going through.
