Newbie - bleeding question
« on: October 27, 2022, 04:34:15 PM »

Hi Everyone
I am 58 and post menopausal. Just started on estradot 50 and utrogestan 100. Today I started bleeding. I know this can sometimes happen but I was wondering what other women's experiences of it were as it is a little heavy and I have cramps. Lovely to be here  :)

Hi Dotty22,
They say it's normal to have bleeding within up to 6 months after starting HRT. I was a bit surprised when I recently started slightly bleeding 10 months into my HRT. My estrogen patch has been increased 5 months ago. I contacted my GP and she did not worry about it and said to contact her if it doesn't stop in 3 months. I am a bit surprised with that response, but maybe it applies to any increase too within first six months.
I think it's always a good idea to speak with your GP, it would be good to do so to put your mind at rest.
