Itchy torso and neck itch
« on: November 07, 2022, 10:15:57 AM »

For the last two weeks I have had itchy body and back of neck but there is no rash🤔 before this I suffered with painful gums

I have been on hrt patches for several years so I don’t think it is anything to do with that

My gp is doing routine blood tests and said it may be my iron ?

Anyone else have had similar symptoms ?

Morning.

It could be a drop in oestrogen levels which may cause the body to become dry: inside and out.  4 me it was itchy insteps; OK in the day, as soon as sock removed at night the intense aggravation would begin.  I would wake in the night with one rough heel scratching the other .

What bloods is your GP doing?

That's a start and if the GP mentioned low Iron then that should be covered.

I received my results of my blood test everything was fine although the GP forgot to do the iron test but she assured me it was ok by looking at my other results although she said my colesterol is 6 which she considered that high especially because I am 9.5 in weight don’t drink or smoke and don’t eat fatty food, I wonder if this is anything to do with me having h pylori?

Extreme itching in my neck was one of my main symptoms when my estrogen levels dropped last year. It was maddening. I had to sleep with cotton gloves on when it was really bad.

6 is 'high' - well above the guide line of 5  ::).  Mine was 7.5 for 20+ years, everything else was OK. Until I saw a different GP who FREAKED  :o and now we both take statins  :-\

Since a child I've had itching underneath the rib cage, was told it's imagination.  I had it again recently ....... once it disappears I forget  ::)

H.Pylori can be sorted with a long course of Antibiotics - has it been confirmed recently?
