Just wondered how many women with tinnitus has found that starting hrt has helped (reduced) in some way their tinnitus?

I have not noticed any improvement since taking HRT, if anything it has got worse since becoming peri x

Yes I did have it before HRT but it seems to have gotten worse over the past year - maybe Covid related?

HRT certainly didn’t make any difference before but it’s hard to know if menopause caused the tinnitus in the first place or something else!

It’s pain in the ear though lol

It's really interesting as the research regarding this, shows completely two opposite things. One research that estrogen makes T better or at least helps it, the other the opposite.

And yes I do think Covid has an awful lot to answer for!!!

I have had tinnitus since I was a teenager and it has gradually got worse sadly HRT has not helped

can i ask when your tinnitus started.

was it around menopause ?

theres evidence to suggest fluctusting hormones and/or low estrogen can trigger tinnitus x

Looking back, tinnitus was possibly my first peri symptom (in my early 40’s) It’s got worse since starting HRT, sadly, but if that’s the worst thing that happens I’ll take it!

yes tinnitus can be quite a common peri symptom.

its interesting you say its got worse since starting hrt as usually hrt is meant to help.
are you still in peri by the way x
