Hi I’m new to this. It’s been reassuring reading everyone else’s stories on here as I do feel I’m the only one going through this nightmare.  But I’ve been suffering for 28 years now I’m constantly researching new remedies. I am now using an LED cap, applying minoxidil  for two years, taking finasteride for 1 month, massaging my head every day, taking biotin and still crying every time I do my hair in the morning. I don’t go out socialising anymore. Only for work and then I put big glasses on my head to hide everything. I have thinning all over my scalp now and use half a ton of hair fibres to hide the scalp if I do have to go out !! I’m now actually thinking about getting some kind of wig. But I’m going to give all the above remedies six months to a year before I go wig searching. I have been researching women’s hair loss for many years now inc hormones. But just keep coming to a blank. I’ve been to my doctor many times who I think has given up on me as he doesn’t think it’s that serious (with Covid happening now). I feel that I’m at the end of my tether.

I am considering a wig, I always had fine hair and now it's getting worse. When i put a wig on i look so lovely...I've heard that many women wear them but I'm self conscious. It would be great in the winter  ;)

Peripagan, have you had blood tests to check your iron and ferritin levels? Sorry if l've missed it if you've said you have already, but low levels can have a big impact on hair loss and regrowth. Also re your itchy head etc l use Nizoral, the prescription shampoo with 2% ketoconazole, not  the OTC one. It's great for me but also really adds volume to your hair which is an added plus. Also, it sounds obvious but make sure you have sufficient protein in your diet too.
