Cutting Estraderm Patches
« on: October 12, 2022, 05:40:06 PM »

I know I've asked this before therefore I apologise, however I cannot find the post.

I am on estraderm mx 50mcg patches.

There are some patches that you can cut and some you cannot, does anyone know for sure if I can cut estraderm patches.

Many thanks in advance xxx

I found this information:
Basically, all three patches, Estradot, Climara and Estraderm, can be used interchangeably and all of them can be cut.  The Climara and Estraderm are larger patches than Estradot but work in a similar way.

It would appear that it is okay to cut them. :)

Fantastic flossieteacake.

I think I will cut a bit off my 50 patch tomorrow when I change as I think 37.5mcg for some reason is the right dosage for me.

I think 50 is too high, at least it is at the moment xx

It is brilliant you have been able to work that out. There is no rush to increase oestrogen if you feel comfortable on a certain dose.

It is great to hear you have a nice GP. You know your body best and if you do not feel right on 50 then at least you have given it a go.

I just would have thought increasing by 12.5mcg wouldn't have made a difference but I think it's too quick.

it's all about finding that 'sweet spot' isn't it xxx

I have always found doctors will say a small increase makes no difference but it does when a person is sensitive to it.

It seems you have found the sweet spot for yourself.  :)

You arent bothering me at all. If you are feeling uncomfortable then I would change the patch now. Its not worth ruining your night feeling uncomfortable. You can then count tonight as the patch change day.

Hi the patch releases the same amount of oestrogen every day so you haven’t messed anything up. It does take time to get used to a new dose so you might be better sticking with it. x

No you have not messed anything up. Dont worry. I would cut diagonally.

Thats right, Wednesday and Saturday will be your patch change days.
