Estraderm MX 25 patches
« on: October 09, 2022, 11:17:34 AM »

Hi,
I have been taking these a few weeks and have found my anxiety is much worse and I'm constantly exhausted.
I still have some of my estradiol 1mg tablets left, and am considering taken one every other day to see if that helps. Is it ok to do this?

Feeling overwhelmed and wishing I'd known about the referral route for testosterone gel years ago. I think I should talk to my GP about it. I only discovered it as a possibility for zero libido since using this website. My GP hasn't offered any solutions.
My total hysterectomy (although I kept my cervix) was in February 2016. Since then, I feel neither female or male. I'm married, so it's very hard on my husband when I have zero interest in intimacy.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated, thanks xx

I cannot advise on taking the tablet as I have only used patches but I just wanted to say, although you have had a total hysterectomy, you are still you. I am sad you no longer feel like a woman. It is understandable you have lost your libido with all you have been through.

I think your idea of talking to your GP about testerone gel is a good one.

Perhaps estraderm does not agree with you. I personally would stop them as they are making your anxiety worse. You may get on better with evorel.

Hi a 25 patch is a very low dose. It’s likely you need a higher dose, especially having had a hysterectomy. It’s not advisable to take oestrogen tablets every other day as this won’t give you a constant dose. X

Yes, I would say you need more oestrogen and also testosterone. Maybe try oestrogel as you can tweak that yourself. The thing with hysterectomy is for quite a proportion of women it makes the ovaries pack up, this is why testosterone can make such a huge difference. Particularly re exhaustion and just not feeling sexy any more. You will get this sorted, please keep talking to us x

Thank you ladies for your kind help and advice. I spoke with my GP today and she has prescribed the MX 50 patches to try. She's also ordered blood tests to check several things and will refer me to the menopause clinic once she's spoken to another GP about my case.
I'll let you know how it all goes xx

I am so pleased you got an appointment and it went well. It is brilliant you have been referred to the menopause clinic too.

Hello ladies,
An update and help request.
My GP increased my MX patches to 75, but still no libido. I have finally been prescribed testogel to try, but the instructions are for men.
If anyone has used this, please could you let me know what area of the body I should try it on.
Thank you xx
