Estradot and perimenopause - info leaflet confusion
« on: November 23, 2022, 05:53:52 PM »

Hi, I was prescribed estradot 50 with utrogestan. I'm 41 with some symptoms. I read the patient info leaflet which says it is for postmenopausal women and that the lowest dose should be used. Does estradot 50 sound like it was the right option? I'm confused. Thanks

Estradot 50 is just oestrogen. I am unsure why the leaflet says it should be for postmenopausal women as it is just an oestrogen patch that can be used at any time during menopause, including perimenopause.

Flossieteacake is right, and I would add that the leaflets that come with all oestrogen products are hopelessly out of date. They refer to old-style oral HRT and should be changed. There are moves afoot to achieve this. (Perhaps it requires an Act of Parliament  ;D.)
