Burning in throat
« on: October 04, 2022, 04:55:26 PM »

Hello ladies.

Me again 😓. Posting nearly everyday with different horrible sensation. Last night had terrible burning in throat and it hasn't gone all day. Scalp has been burning for weeks after Femoston, but not so bad now on oestrogel & utrogestan which I've been on for 11 days (during these days had 2 huge spots size of penny's and pins & needles in armpit)

Struggling to keep taking the HRT don't know whether to blame burning throat on it, but I have had this when not taking it too. Is burning throat menopause symptom or is it HRT making it worse and will calm down? I feel like I'm going crazy as cannot cope with all these sensations. Any advice please? Thank you.

Do U sleep with mouth wide open?

Have U had a dental check recently?  HRT can cause some symptoms ......... my throat is constantly sore and I have post nasal drip.

Sorry to hear you have a burning throat. It is hard to say if it is HRT or a menopause symptom. I get burning throat and tongue a lot due to menopause. It is very uncomfortable and I am sorry it is happening to you.

I find eating ice cream helpful. At least it tastes nice. :)

Thank you both for your replies and for replying to my other posts too. I don't know how I would keep going without ye💐. I'll try and continue with the HRT.

How did you find out that your burning tongue & sore throat was menopause Flossieteacake?

Any type of ice cream better than others ? ;-)

Mine is due to post nasal drip which can become worse in peri-menopause.  Have U tried sucking sweets?  Chewing gum gives I wind it does  >:(  ::)

I looked it up and read about burning mouth syndrome and how it can be hormonal. I did not have anything like this before menopause so it added up. I also read taking zinc can help. I started taking zinc but I still get the burning at times.

You are welcome. :)
