Is it really so important to take Utrogestan orally on an empty stomach? I want to try it orally as I sleep really badly and it irritates when I use it vaginally but I always have a glass of milk and a few biscuits or slice of cake an hour or so before bed . I know it’s probably not the best time but habit now 🤷🏻‍♀️

Utrogestan's bio availability increases if taken with food.
While I might be wrong in saying this is not a problem normally, it is, for women who are taking GABA agonist medication, such as benzodiazepines, as both benzodiazepines and the metabolites act on GABA receptors in the brain.
This would be a problem for me, yet, for women not taking GABA agonists, I don't think it is a problem, I won't state it as a fact though.

One hour before food or two hours after. I just thought that one hour before might fit in better with your bedtime snack routine.
