Everol conti to everol sequi
« on: September 21, 2022, 08:26:51 PM »

I have been on everol conti for 12 months had 3 months bleed after about 6 months this settled down and been great (I have not had a period for 2 years) I went on HRT due to insomnia and flushes. These symptoms started to creep back in last 4/5 weeks. GP has swapped me to everol sequi, but when I read up this is for women who still have periods....can't get appointment now till next week. I have seen women swapped from sequi to conti but not other way round. Can anyone help  :-\

I am sorry as I think the same as you.
I just had a quick google and there are a few threads on this site about Conti to sequi, if you google Conti to sequi, you will see the threads come up, you could check there.

Did you get the bleed checked out?
The vast majority of post meno bleeds are normal, they just check to be sure, I had hassle with bleeds.

Sorry it's all I know what to suggest.

Yes had bleed checked out, all good thankfully, its all so confusing as I just feel the dosage needs tweaking, just sounds like sequi gives more progesterone than conti and as don't have periods assume that doesn't fit my situation  :-\ not reassuring when your GP googles have to say either!
Will see if I can find threads...thanks.

I'm glad your bleed was not anything sinister.
Yeah, hrt often needs tweaking.
I hope the threads on here help.

Hi Jojo

 :welcomemm:

Yes you can go back to sequi - women often do if the conti doesn't control their bleeding and then it becomes (hopefully) more predictable, but it is doubtful it will do anything for your symptoms. If your flushes are returning then this does indicate that you may need a higher oestrogen dose. Off licence this could be achieved with 1 1/2 patches (provided the bleeding stays under control) which I understand some specialists permit. Otherwise you would need to have separate oestrogen and progestogen. (available preparations on the menu of the main website)

As you say the conti provides double the amount of progestogen because the company uses the same patches for the sequi part of the HRT too, so theoretically you might be able to increase the oestrogen dose while using a conti patch eg by adding eg a 25 mcg patch. This works I understand for some women.  Again I think this is sometimes done off-licence but would need to be monitored to check the womb lining stayed thin. Not sure if your GP will have the expertise to prescribe and monitor this?

Thanks for your reply ladies, i just find it mind blowing the information. I have had no bleeding now for over 6 months so i think that is my reluctance to switch to something that may re start them, i may give the 1 and a half a try and see how that goes. The flushes i can cope with....the insomnia is torture, asleep for 2 hours and then wide awake and then destroyed all day, reminds of having babies again  ;D

If all else fails i may switch to the tablet and gel and see if that works. no confidence in GP she just googles it so want to be armed with the right information before i go back. Forum is a god send.
