I’ve been taking penicillin for the last few days and had the worst anxiety and jitters. Has anyone else experienced this?

Did the GP/Dentist know that you are taking HRT?  U could ring the Pharmacist for advice.

Which HRT have you been recommended and how long has you taken it?

Hi, the Dr knows I’m on HRT and knows that I get anxiety on and off.  I take 3 pumps of oestrogel and have the mirena coil, but think I need to review it as it’s not dealing with my anxiety in general. 

I just feel that the antibiotics are messing with the HRT in general.

ABs DO mess with HRT. I had a bleed recently despite being definitely post menopausal and on HRT  for 12 years. The gynae I saw believes it was the ABs I was on earlier this year that interfered with the HRT thus causing the bleed.

Thanks, that’s interesting, I’ve definitely had some hot flushes again since starting the ABs. I’ll give them a miss I think, the anxiety is giving me acid reflux which I now need to get rid of.

It'll be the ABs causing the acid reflux.  Why can't ABs be delivered in patch form,  many other drugs are  .  I've had to take Milk of Magnesia a few moments ago due to the amount of pain relief I'm swallowing, trying to avoid ABs which upset my stomach !

What's the AB for exactly?

They were for sinusitis but I’d rather live with that than with the side effects of the ABs!  Currently taking gaviscon after every meal to try to calm it down.
