Not really. Will test later, but not all classic symptoms. Most likely a bad cold. My breathing is mildly affected, but not a concern so far.

A very strong positive line on the test.

Sorry to read that Ju Ju. I hope it soon passes. Rest is important plus fluids of course. I had more of the head cold symptoms plus flu like aches and pains. Very little cough. My son is visiting his girlfriend at her home  in Hungary and they've both gone down with it. He said he's never been so snotty but no cough!

Symptoms par for the course, apart from asthma challenges. DS, who is paramedic, is concerned about my heart rate which is going the clappers even at rest. He came to check on me in the night as apparently I’m coughing far more than usual.

I was sent to A&E by GP (via Oximetry nurse) due to high heart rate. Nothing was found to be wrong apart from covid. GP said that this new Omicron strain is doing weird things so they are taking no chances.

Settled down to normal this morning. This is not unusual for me when asthma is bad anyway. I think think he would have taken me to the ER had it remained. O2 levels down, but DS said that was not of great concern. They were talking about taking paxlovid, an antiviral drug. I’m reluctant, looking at the side effects and maybe too late anyway and expensive.

So do I and I hope DH doesn’t get it. We’re here for 3weeks, so hopefully a chance of some holiday. Rather be at home being ill  though. Just worried about my asthma. Peak flow very low, can’t get the breath out to blow.

He had a fever in the night, sheets in the wash, but not too bad so far. Will encourage him to test later to make sure it’s not man flu!

My breathing is much better. Peak flow, O2 and pulse rate almost better. It’s a relief. I’ve been rather fearful as in the past I’ve ended up having to go to hospital. Didn’t want that here. Must be most American’s fear… will my insurance cover medical treatment. At home I could ring either the surgery or 111 and get help. They don’t take risks with bad asthma. But the doubling up of the inhalers I now take seem to have got me through. Well I hope I’m through the worst. DS has been wonderful checking up on me when I have a coughing fit.
