Being alone in the early hours can be very lonely.  I rarely have a bad night though in the 1980s/90s sleep was difficult.  For years I had a radio on by the bed in an effort to not feel as alone as well as distracting my brain  ::).  I would pretend to ice skate and I was really really good  ;)

Having a book by the bed can help.

Hi CLKD

Thanks so much for sharing that.

Yes radio 4 can be a good listen and I have just finished Raynor Winns' excellent book The Salt Path.

What a lovely story of pretending to ice skate.

I sometimes pretend I'm all safe in a tent and just listening to rain sounds on my phone can sometimes help.

You are not a ninnie. You cannot help how you feel. We all understand what a stress menopause is. It is good you felt able to share how you are feeling.

Not a ninnie at all.  Sudden dips in mood can cause awful panic feelings ...... peri-menopause, The Change - does what it says on the tin.

........ how about a deep warm bath?  A little bit of relaxation: starting at the toes by tightening/relaxing all the way up the muscle groups.

Sleep is important.  Such a disappointment that you suddenly had a 'bad night'.

Panic sends logic out of the window!  3 weeks ago I had a melt down  :'( out of the blue, the 1st since 2018.  Of course I can't include 2020 ........ ;-)

Yep.  I put myself under pressure by agreeing to too much at all once and had too long to think about those plans  :-\. Come the day, come the hour, fortunately I was fine.
