New Member - Evorel Sequi Advice

Hello everyone,

I have been taking Evorel Sequi for 16 weeks now.  First month I felt really good, but after that my mood has started to steadily decline.
The bleeding over the first 3 months was very heavy but that has settled now (thank goodness). I am 49.

My mood is very low, I am anxious and agitated constantly and I am having trouble sleeping. Struggling to do everyday things just now which is not like me.

I was referred to my local menopause clinic five weeks ago - unfortunately my GP surgery didn't actually send in the referral when they were supposed to so I now have another 8 - 12 weeks to wait for that appointment.

I have been reading posts on here and I am unsure if I should change anything myself before seeing a specialist. I feel I need to try something different, as I really can't go on the way things are for another 8 weeks or more.

I am unsure if I have too much estrogen and should try halfing my patches, or if I have too little estrogen and should use an extra half patch on top of the normal dose? Or should I try buying FemSeven Sequi as maybe it's the progesterone that isn't agreeing with me.

Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Mandapanda,

Welcome to Menopause Matters; I've only been on HRT 16 days myself, I'm post meno, and although I can't give you advice regarding your question there are some lovely very experienced ladies on here who will I'm sure be able to answer your question.

I too, have severe anxiety and insomnia, which seems to be getting slowly better.

Just to encourage you, that there is some really really good and helpful advice on here.

All the very best

xx

Thank you discogirl.

I've upped my patch for now - just using an extra half patch and it seems to be working. Long may it last 🤞

Hi MandaPanda.

The progesterone in Evorel is Norethisterone which is known to cause low mood and/or PMT type symptoms in some women. Fem Seven has a kinder progesterone or there are other combinations you can try. If it is the progesterone affecting your mood then you will also be increasing this hormone by adding an extra half patch. Have you had any medical advice?
