Testosterone - how much can the GP give you?
« on: September 08, 2022, 04:53:14 PM »

Hi,

i have had a prescription from my GP for 12 x testosterone testogel sachets. That should last me 12 weeks . Which will be expensive if I have to pay every 3 months. Along with my HRT which is 4 monthly this is going to be expensive.

How much do we all get from our GP's prescriptions?

It varies depending on the Health Authority or Country I believe.

If you get 3 or 4 months at a time you're lucky, mine do 2 months, some only do 1. You can buy a 'season ticket' (not sure what they call it) which will give you all your medication for a set fee. From memory it's about £39 for 3 months. I have Tostran, the pump lasts for about 7 months so it's very economical for women.

Thanks Ladies,

I haven't looked into tostran. I have a season ticket for 3 months  :), but  i will ask the GP to possibly coincide with my HRT. I may start it in a few weeks and then it should last until i need some more.
