bad breath body odour odor
« on: September 05, 2022, 10:21:32 AM »

Has anyone had bad breath or body odour that got better/worse around peri/menopause and with/without HRT?

yes and yes!

i think mine improved with hrt but i don't keep records and i've had so many symptoms that it's hard to keep track of things!!

for what it's worth:
i think oestrogen has an impact on saliva production, i think i've read that low oestrogen equals low saliva which can result in gum disease and- i would have thought- bad breath.
body odour possible also a result of low oestrogen therefore relatively high testosterone (not actually raised but relative ti oestrogen levels) ie smelling a bit more manly/plain old BO! I do remember noticing this as part of the peri/meno experience

i'm not saying you necessarily have gum disease- i suspect a dryish mouth is enough to cause bad breath
