Hi again!!!

I've been on HRT 1 month on 25th. I've been on 25mcg estraderm patches and on 13th Sept I increased it by half a patch.

Is this how I go about increasing my estrogen patches, just by seeing how my symptoms are?

My main symptoms are insomnia and anxiety. The anxiety is a bit better, the insomnia is still bad, but i am having a few days where I do seem to sleep 6 hours.

Its just I think my insomnia is down to the amitrypline I take which I am weaning off but weaning off that will take a couple of months, so in the meantime do I just stick to the patch and a half then see how I am once I am off the amitrypline?

I think your insomnia is likely to be due to low oestrogen.

If you’ve still got symptoms after about a month on a dose then I would increase. x

so im on a patch and a half which ive been on since 13th sept. i started off on 25mcg estraderm 25th august

would i go up to 2 patches that would be 50mcg and when do you think i should increase. ive been wary about increasing too quickly.

Hi you can get a 50 patch or use two 25patches. The problem with that is that your prescription will run out quickly.

It’s hard to say when to increase and everyone will have different ideas. I just knew that the doses I was on weren’t working and I needed more.

25 is a low dose. The usual starting dose is 50. x

so even though ive only been on hrt 1mth on 25th sept you think id be ok going to 50.

i just dont want to increase too quickly but i think your right about my estrogen

how long had you been on hrt before you went to 50 dotty xxx

I was on a 1mg tablet for a month before going on a 2mg pill. I stayed on this for 3 months and then went onto 4 pumps of Oestrogel.

Everyone’s different so I can’t really say what’s right for you . X
