Evorel patches- norethisterone reaction
« on: August 18, 2022, 12:30:41 PM »

Hi all

Has anyone experienced a severe drop in mood when they move from the estrogen patch (after 2 weeks) to the combined patch while on evorel sequi patches.

I would appreciate a quick reply if it has happened to you.

Thanks

Yes it happened to me. It felt much like PMT. It's the Norethisterone. It's well known for it. I swapped to FemSeven and that progesterone suited me fine

Are you still able to get femseven? I phoned a couple of local chemists and they said it was not on the market?!

It seems FemSeven conti is available now but sequi will be back next month. Scroll down to Theramax products https://thebms.org.uk/news/british-menopause-society-update-on-hrt-supply/

I am on Evorel sequi now as I had a hysterectomy due to prolapse so I no longer need progesterone. I find the Evorel patches stick better than the FemSeven.

I had a very definite change in mood when I first came across  norethisterone in Evorel Conti patches.
Homicidal rage just about covers it. It does ease after 3 months and goes after 6. Well it did for me.

Thank you Limpy. I have an incredibly low mood. I have been on for a year and it seems to take a drop when I move from estrogen patch to combined one. I have also been left on the progesterone pill by the GP and tapering diazepam.
All a bit messy I am afraid!
Thanks again

Miss Piggy why are you on noresthisterone and the progesterone pill? That’s far too much prog, no wonder you have a dip in mood. I can’t comment on the diazepam but the other two alone are overkill x

That's what the GP told me to do. I asked her about the pop pill when she suggested trying hrt and she said it was fine to take both! I wish I had just said no as she was only guessing putting me on hrt. She has also left me on a load of benzos. Quite a mess to be honest.

It lowers my mood a bit but makes me kick ass so I like it, I don't have a lot of energy usually but when on that I get plenty  ;D

I agree that you seem to be having too much progesterone. No wonder you feel so rubbish on the combined patches.

Thank you Taz. Interesting reading. Shame she is just a guest and we cannot contact her.
