Side effects of vagifem
« on: August 05, 2022, 11:06:30 AM »

Hi, I am new here and new to menopause! I have recently started using vagifem to help with dryness and itching. Last night  I started with painful skin one side of my groin(thought my underwear had rubbed) and along to my right thigh.  There is nothing to see, no swelling, redness or heat but feelis like sunburn.........has anyone else experienced this? I did not use the vagifem this morning as I was worried. Is this a side effect that will subside? or do I contact  my doctor ?

Morning.  How often and when are you applying the 'vagifem'?

R U able to get the pessary into the vagina without problems?  Could you have some dribble in the night onto the thigh which may cause irritation?

Vagifem is an extremely hard tablet and it might not be dissolving quickly enough because of the dryness round the vaginal walls.
Have you tried using a vaginal moisturiser before inserting the vagifem, doing that might help it dissolve quicker.
