Hello, I am 57 years old and was using tibolone for 8-9 years, my periods stopped at the age of 43. I used tibolone without any problems for all this time, up to January 2022, however, I was starting to experience night sweats again. As a consequence, because of the night sweats, My doctor changed my HRT from tibolone end of January, to lenzetto spray and utrogestan. All was fine until end of May when I started with a backache and subsequent spotting. I was fast-tracked with a scan (showing slight thickening), a hysteroscopy and biopsies, I am waiting for the results.
My question is - I have been told, by the gynae, to stop taking the lenzetto spray/utrogestan until i receive my results, but as soon as I stop taking it or reduce it, I start to bleed with bad period pains.
To me, it seems more sensible to start again on tibolone as I was virtually trouble free (aside from night sweats that now seem comparatively 'easy' after bleeding on and off since May).
My GP doctor has now since advised me to increase the lenzetto spray (currently on 3 pumps, she advised 4 pumps each morning).
I am confused by the conflicting advise and do not understand why I was not switched from the spray/utrogestan back to tibolone whilst waiting for my results ( and could be as long as 4 weeks I am told), which I am fairly sure will be because of the change of HRT.
My question is - do I carry on with the 4 pumps of lenzetto/utrogestan or do I reduce/stop the HRT altogether and tolerate the bleeding/pains/backache for possibly 5 weeks plus until my issues are sorted?
Thank you.
