Are you on any medication that could be contributing to weight gain?

I put 5lbs on in the last week, been on a diet and exercising. Last night the weather was much cooler here and I must have got up to the loo at least 4 times to pee. Weighed in this morning 4lbs lighter, fluid retension!

Hi! when did you notice weight gain?  Has this been cyclic or more recently?

I haven't gained weight but my apron dropped several years ago so when I look down I look fat  ::).

If you have gained suddenly, recently then ask your Practice Nurse to do a full blood count, ESR and thyroid function tests as well as weighing you every 4 months.  My GP weighs me twice a year.

How do you feel overall?
