Change in HRT
« on: July 06, 2022, 03:03:18 PM »

Hi , looking for some advice , went through the menopause 15 years ago, have been on & off HRT since, I was changed to Kliovance when my Angelique was withdrawn, no issues at all. My GP out the blue has asked me to have a change to Estradiol one pump once a day and Progesterone Micronised at bedtime on an empty stomach, I was very reluctant at first but currently my hot sweats during the day are awful, should I just bit the bullet, can’t bear the thought of a bleed if I’m honest, that’s what’s mainly putting me off, thanks

hi if you use Utrogestan every day then you won't bleed. You may get some bleeding at first but it should settle .x

Hello Kenny. Welcome to the forum. If you were happy with your HRT then why did your GP suggest you change? Sorry, if I am missing something. I often get confused.  :)

I was there for something routine and he suggested a change in my HRT, he certainly didn’t insist but suggested a change would be good. Thanks

If your HRT is working then I would not change it. I do not know why a change would be good if it is working. If you are happy with the HRT you were on then I would stick to it. I have found it can be difficult to find a HRT that suits and it is wonderful if you do.  :)

I think Kliovance is oral? In which case I would change to transdermal as suggested.
