Testosterone / Androfeme question
« on: June 25, 2022, 10:33:33 AM »

I was prescribed testosterone gel (Testim) as had all the symptoms of low testosterone. After 4 months I had a blood test to check levels. Despite taking it every day my FAI was 0.82, so I asked to swap to Androfeme. After 4 months on Androfeme I had another blood test last week and my FAI was 0.82 so even lower! I have had small improvements such as more sensitivity but not a huge difference. Dr has told me to double up on the Androfeme but at £100 for a 3 month supply, £100 every 6 weeks isn’t cheap. Could it be that I’m not absorbing it properly? I was applying it to my outer thigh as instructed but I’m quite overweight so maybe it’s struggling to get through the fat? I’ve swapped to my inner forearms as that has less fat. Has anyone else had this issue with testosterone?

Hi

I have gone the opposite way.  I doubled up on the androfemme, but my levels remained low, so I’ve recently switched to testim, and my levels have increased a bit, it’s still early days.

One tube of testim over 5 days, I think that works out cheaper then the androfemme.

It’s frustrating isn’t it?

Thanks for replying. Yes it is very frustrating. Luckily I still have 2/3 of a box full of Testim left which I’m not going to let go to waste. I’m thinking of alternating it. Do you apply yours morning or night?

I apply mine in the morning.  I use my forearm to apply onto outer thigh.  So as not to waste any.

Good luck with alternating, I would be interested to see how you get on

Best wishes  :)

If you need to double up, Testogel is pretty inexpensive. I think it's about £25 for a 3 month supply - it's much cheaper than AndroFemme anyway and also has better ingredients (no parabens or hydroxybenzoates).

At first I was daunted by the whole 'pea size amount' thing, but now it is really easy and my bloods showed I have 3% FAI and a good testosterone level.
