Hi all,

I have been struggling for so long now and suspected I wasn’t absorbing from patches ( 75 mcg oestrodot) . First blood test showed oestradiol level of 181 In March; second test showed it had plummeted to 81mcg by May! Went up to 100 patches then added in one pump of Oestrogel. The response in my brain was pretty immediate and within 24 hours the crying and anxiety had stopped and the despair was gone. I was back to my old self which felt amazing after so long of feeling so low. This lasted 10 days… then today I woke up and sensed the old feelings of mental discomfort. Held off the tears for a few hours but then the flood gates opened. Could my brain and body have had an initial response to make me feel so good but now it’s levelled out again? I’m so confused.
Any advice or ideas would be so welcome. Thanks

I think if you're not absorbing the patches, why did they increase to 100 and add in the gel? I mean, it suggests that there's something about the patches which aren't working for you so it would make more sense to switch totally away from the patches and onto the gel.

I bet your sudden improvement was due to that little bit of gel in the one pump which you were able to absorb. But it wasn't enough. Ask if you can switch fully to gel. You would be best to build up gradually as if you haven't been on any, because to your body you haven't and it might be a shock if you suddenly started at 4 pumps  ;D

I agree you should ditch this patch. They use different carriers so you may find a different one is better or it may that you don't absorb anything we'll transdermally and may consider switching to oral. There's also an oestrogen implant but it needs a specialist and it's likely you'll only get it when you've tried everything else.
