Utrogestan, oestrogel, sertraline
« on: June 01, 2022, 04:48:25 PM »

Hi all
Can anyone please help with how I feel after starting this regime, I've waited a year to start this and I'm struggling.
I am postmenopausal and started the regime 3 days ago , I used Utrogestan V .100mg continuously plus 1 pump  gel.
I feel awful.Sleepy, spaced out , anxious, headachy, weepy , just weird.

Hello Battyboo. If you have started all 3 of those at the same time then I can understand you feeling this way. It will be a shock for your body and it will need to adjust. Do you feel you are able to wait to see if your symptoms improve?

Hi I was told to give Oestrogel and Utrogestan three months before adding in an anti depressant. My consultant said that if I started all at the same time then I wouldn’t know which was working. The Oestrogel did the trick and I didn’t need the anti depressants . X

I've been taking sertraline for 3 years that's not knew , but I'm wondering if it's making me feel so bad.
I  need to patient but I can't function normally so not sure whether to stop.

Batty, if post menopausal, usually you take 100mg nightly. Peri, it’s 12 days of 200 I think.

Some ladies can’t  tolerate utrogestan daily, so choose a cyclical regime instead, even when post menopausal and that’s okay.

Hope you feel better soon x

Do you feel comfortable to talk to your GP about how you are feeling? It sounds like you could do with their support. As you have been on sertraline for 3 years I would think it is the HRT making you feel this way.
