You do need to be patient with the hrt and give any change the full three months. I know it's difficult. How about your antidepressant? Is that in need of tweaking?

Hi nas I know ...its just because I sem to have just dipped. .my clinic told me 75mg. Hmm
I may try that again as my oestrogen has infact dropped quite quickly over the month.

I've been on sertraline since Jan and didn't really want to chanfe this at the min as would be too many changes?

You also need to remember that , as you are still in peri, you’re oestrogen will fluctuate so blood tests won’t really help you . x

Hi Vicky,
I’m so sorry to hear you’re still having problems, though personally,  I do think you should still stick to the 50 as you didn’t get on with the 75 or the 100 and felt terrible on both of those, but your clinic is the best one to advise you. It could also be your progestorone that isn’t right for you, as the side effects from that could be what’s causing the issues you have.  I know you take breaks from that, but it is still in your body.

As for your blood test for estradiol, as others have said, your are fluctuating in peri, so you can’t take too much notice, however, those results aren’t actually too bad, though I know it’s not what you want to hear. For me, in post meno, I was only 112 nmo/L on a 50 patch after 3/4 months and I bet I’m under 200 on the 75 that I’ve been on for past 6 months, but I do feel better, though I’m sure it could still improve. It’s all about how you feel and your symptoms really, although it is still too early for you as you haven’t been on HRT for very long yet.

I hope today has been better for you.

Teresa

Hi Vicky,

Ask them about the progestorone….honestly, I do wonder if it’s that still….

Hope your clinic call goes well today Vicky. I really hope you get some relief soon.
I am having blood tests today (ordered by NHS consultant). I don’t see the point myself but ….he’s the boss after all! I am 46, still have strong cycle (though irregular and weird!). It’s the fluctuations I hate so much. At the moment I am day 5 and feeling rubbish (as I normally do at this time in cycle) so at least my oestrogen will be at its lowest (and most stable) when I have the bloods done. I can have one month feeling fine and the next month rocky as hell at the moment.  I am kind of looking forward to actual menopause as maybe at least the huge fluctuations will go and my body can get used to what it’s got. Could be years hence though.

Blood tests for estradiol with peri fluctuations are pretty useless.  Symptoms are key at this stage of peri hell.
