Hi,
I have just been moved from androfemme to Testim, and have a few questions, if anyone can help?

The tube needs to last me 5 days, is there any way of making sure of a consistent dose?  At the moment, I am just guessing, and may have surplus at the end of day 5, or may run out beforehand

The gel seems very runny, is that normal, or should I put it in the fridge?

Do I rub it in? Or spread it?  The PIL says "Use a circular motion to rub the gel into your skin for several seconds. do this until no gel is left on the skin area"  -- although posts on here suggest it should just be spread

Hi there I use testim and I make my tube last 7 days. It's a bit of trial and error the first few weeks to gauge the size of blob. I don't think little fluctuations matter so much like they do for oestrogen so I wouldn't worry too much. I rub it in and then wait two or three minutes before getting dressed. It can be a bit runny so be careful not to drop the blob! If I notice towards the end of my 7 days that there seems to be too much left then I increase the amount I squeeze out so that I finish the tube by the end of the week. And vice versa, if by day five I don't seem to have enough for the last couple of days then I squeeze out a bit less. Not very scientific I know, but I haven't noticed any problems. Maybe someone else will come along with their experiences.

Hi Dougalina - I use a Testogel and 0.7 so a satxhet should last me 7 days but I get about 5 out of it . I purchased micro scale off Amazon and it does the trick. Testo like testim is runny so my blob is nowhere near a pea size that  they speak of and it’s. MOre like a few peas! (But I’m on 0.7 so a teeny more than the usual 0.5). The scale does help and takes away some of the worrying about amounts! I so often though think jeez that’s a huge blob compared to Androfeme I had previously but the base is different so more gel and runnier. Try a scale if you’re wanting to take out the guesswork x

I’m the same! A tube should last 5 days but it’s very hit and miss - same as gnatty, I use my best guess and increase or decrease towards the end of the 5 days.

Not a fan of the smell though - much preferred androfemme but I wasn’t absorbing it which is a shame.

That's a good idea, I might invest in a micro scale.

However, this week I have totally messed up, in a most embarrassing way! Last night, I didn't put the light on while I fished around in the bathroom cupboard for my ovestin.

Slathered a load on to my nether regions, oy it was the tube of testim!!  OMG, not recommended, it stung/burned like billy-o, I could not get the flannel and cold water to my poor bits fast enough!

So, now of course the tube won't last 5 days.

Morning ladies, just found this post! I’ve been moved from Androfem to Testim which I will start when it arrives. Has anyone got any positive stories. Wasn’t absorbing the Androfem cream so hoping the gel will do the trick, also where does everyone apply it. My specialist recommended back of thigh or buttocks? Xx

Yes I think it's great! How long have you been told to make a tube last? I put it on the backs of my knees and I make a tube last one week as my levels were still a bit low when I made it last ten days.

Hi Gnatty, that’s great to hear, thank you for replying. She said to make it last 10 days to start with then increase to a higher dose ie make it last 7 days. Really hoping it works xx

Have you been prescribed the testim after trying hrt?  Was it straightforward getting it?   Bad news about the wrong tube Dougalina!

Morning ladies! If I’m to make the Testim tube last 10 days would you say it’s like a pea size amount? I guess it’s trial and eeeor but don’t want to apply too much x

I write the date I opened the sachet on the tube using a sharpie. I use a large pea sized blob, sachet lasts 5 days. I’m sure that some days the amount varies but my doctor told me that’s not important at these small levels. I was offered injections but didn’t fancy self administration!
