Update on bladder!
« on: April 30, 2022, 12:33:37 PM »

Been in touch with my MS.
She says all this bladder malarkey is down to low Oestrogen.
My ‘bits’ have gone, hands and face like sandpaper and libido went 3 months ago ( same time as started oral HRT).

Going to be brave and have a Mirena fitted. MS is also going to haul me into clinic for a thorough look at my lower portions, to see what’s been going on.

Thanks for all your support AGAIN.. 🤞🤞🤞🌸🌸🌸

Oh good.. I’m glad they’re  going to give you an actual physical exam. Nothing beats actually talking to a dr in person and them actually looking at the problem. I really hope you get a solution! You’ve had a rough old time of it !

Hello Nas.

I am pleased that you are getting somewhere with your symptoms. Out of interest was your MS appointment the one at the Chelsea and Westminster hospital that you were talking about on a different thread?

I agree that having a doctor actually examine you will be excellent and makes an effective treatment much more likely. Perhaps she will also have some diet/lifestyle ideas that could help? A friend of mine swears by Sea Buckthorn Oil but she only takes the capsules when she feels the dryness coming on and stops them when it resolves, I think she uses Yes moisturiser on occasion as well but she has never been on HRT.

Wishing you well Nas and let us know how you get on.

Take care.

Thankyou Kathleen

I was originally under Chelsea and Westminster as I’ve had breast cancer.
But communication was very sparse and I was never able to get a face to face appointment ( which would have been hard as I live in  Cheshire!)

Chelsea were never willing to allow me to trial a different progesterone, so I went private. Private specialist gave me flexibility with products, which never worked as well as the patch. She suggested the Mirena but I kept resisting.

Then I was transferred to the NHs at Liverpool women's.
Now I’m willing to trial the Mirena, just waiting for an appointment.

I will trial some sea buckthorn oil, Thankyou.

How are you feeling Kathleen ? Xxxx

Hello again Nas.

Thanks for the update and I hope the Mirena Coil goes well for you.

I am not so good actually. I wasn't too bad this morning but my anxiety has been growing all day and it certainly contributes to my low mood. I feel so much better when the jitters stop and I wish I knew how to get rid of them.
I am still on the slightly lower dose of 2 sachets of Sandrena gel so perhaps I should abandon the experiment and increase again. Why is this so hard?

I shall be watching Davina's programme tonight, you never know she might have found the magic potion that we are all looking for!

Take care and wishing you well.

Oh I am sorry to read that you are not feeling so good today Kathleen. I seriously wish there something to make those horrid jitters go away!

What progesterone do you use? It’s not that causing the issue is it?

Have you tried to increase the sandrena, or is that when the bleeding kicks off?

I said to my partner, I hope Davina shares the “ magic potion” to alleviate our suffering. To which he replied “ yes she does, it’s called having money “ !🤦‍♀️

Wishing you well as always and I hope tomorrow is a better day for us xxx

I’ve put my patch back on, bladder issues are subsiding, bits are returning , dry hands are not as dry, all within 50 hours or so. BUT I’m plagued with abdominal cramps and bleeding is imminent! The coil HAS to work, else this  is going to be life ! Xx

Hi Nas
So pleased to hear you are going to see someone. I hope the mirena helps you - keeping everything crossed for you.
Your partner’s comment   ;D So true. I just hope by bringing all these issues up that things change for women and we don’t have to jump through so many hoops or navigate an impossibly hard journey without the support and guidance and hormones we need!!
Wishing you luck with your appointment xx

Wishing you the best of luck with this Nas, let us know how you get on.

Kathleen, sorry you’re feeling so bad. Is it low estrogen?

Hello ladies.

Nas - Thank you for your kind words, much appreciated.

ATB - I honestly don't know if my Oestrogen is too high or too low. I do know that my moods are very up and down, I can be okay, even optimistic for a while followed by a bit of panic and low mood.
I understand that mood swings can result from either too low or too high oestrogen. I have used three sachets of gel in the past which I believe is a higher dose and as my mood swings continued  I decided to try following the advice of my NHS consultant and titrate down and I am now using two sachets. Not knowing if I am going in the right direction is very frustrating!

Thank you for your interest ladies and I hope the day goes well for you.

Take care.
