Swapped to patch and symptoms returning
« on: May 11, 2022, 07:27:46 PM »

Hello,

I’m hoping for some help. I was on eostrogel and utrogestan for a little while (5months) which was really helping me. However I always had trouble taking the progesterone tablets and a few weeks ago badly choked on one which caused me some anxiety. (I do have issues with tablets generally).

Anyway the dr said I could try the patches which I’ve been in for a couple of weeks now. I’m not sure why but my symptoms are returning. Nights sweats (although not as bad as they were originally) and painful joints.

Is there a big difference between gel and patches and what are my options if I can’t take tablets?

Any advice gratefully received!

I insert the Utrogestan vaginally as I was quite affected by side affects taking it orally. This is quite a common way of taking them even if your GP isn’t aware of it.

I’m not sure that will work with me considering how many times I nip you the loo at bedtime 😂

Do I not just need more eostrogen?
