Scans?
« on: April 29, 2022, 01:54:08 PM »

Hi everyone,

No gynaecologist or specialist I’ve seen over the years has suggested a scan of any sort…I believe they can measure endometrial thickness? How would I go about getting one? What are the scans called…uterine scans? I’ve been on HRT now for a few years now and think it’s something I should do. How invasive are they? Is it ultrasound over the external pelvis area…..?

Hey

I had a scan through ultrasound direct. They have clinics all over the UK. Pretty reasonable compared to other treatments.

To measure the lining it is external scan of overies and internal scan with probe too.

I'm surprised you've not had to have one if you've used the private sector. I had to have one before my bhrt clinic would treat me. I found it quite reassuring though.

Google ultrasound direct x

Thanks CrispyChick,

I’ve no idea if I’m peri or post as I’m 53 but been on HRT for about 5 - 7 years (can’t remember when I started HRT now!). I’ll have the cheaper one then hopefully! If they use a probe internally….I’ll wait until the Vagifem has kicked in in that case. Nothing going up there until the burning issues is resolved!
