I’m a bit disappointed that yet again progesterone has been sidelined with the “ looks after the lining of the womb” title.
It does so much more.
*It is an endogenous steroid (meaning it’s produced within its own cell ) and plays a part in melatonin production and sedation.
*It’s also a crucial player in the production of other endogenous steroids in the brain and corticosteroids. (Corticosteroids are produced by the adrenals and govern stress response, immune response, behaviour, inflammation regulation and carbohydrate metabolism to name a few!).
So I’d say it’s important 😁 Hopefully during the programme more will be said about it.
