Scams
« on: March 23, 2022, 01:47:32 PM »

Just checked my email junk mail, as sometimes legitimate emails land there. There was one there headed by my name. Opened to a long badly constructed email, basically trying to blackmail me saying that I have been hacked. They said they were able to see the sites I have visited including all the porn sites the sender alleges I have been to ( :o) and apparently a camera on my computer has recorded me w******! Didn’t bother to read any more, but showed it to DH to have a laugh. Is this the ultimate in phishing?

U should be so lucky  ::)  ;)

DH had one from Japan about paying off debts through our bank there.  Well we don't bank in Japan at the Bank they were suggesting.  Usually the email address makes it obvious that it's a scam.  I simply bin them, anyone wanting me that badly can lift the 'phone !

I have a plaster stuck over the camera on my computer, so I know no-one can hack my camera.  I also don't visit dubious sites.  Having my own business it amazes me of the scams people try, it feels like R. roulette sorting through the emails and have to be forever on your guard.

The email might have worried me if I had dubious tastes and had a male appendage!  ;D If anyone did hack my computer it would be very boring! Online shopping for food, clothes etc, visits to Menopause-matters, family emails and messages……..oh what an interesting life I lead!  ;D

DH has a business email address and regularly gets emails, in his junk mail, offering certain saucy services! And apparently I’m a beneficiary of various wills and due to inherit loads of money. All I’ve got to do is click on a link and give my financial details…………!
